AFAIK Turtl is run by one guy. If he gets sick and the server goes down you won’t be able to access it.

Under the settings section, there is an “import & export” option. Exporting will produce a copy of all your notes that you can save to your hard drive. The notes are saved as .json files, json meaning Java Script Object Notation. It may look like a stream of nonsense when you first open it up, but if you look closely, all the text notes are still in plain text, buried among the other information about which note it belongs to, which user made it, etc.
