Alternative account confirmation

Hi there,
I managed to install a self-hosted server and I can create accounts from the desktop or the android app as well. But I cannot share any notes since the accounts must be confirmed before. And here is my problem: the email transport to our mail server always fails, there is something wrong with the endpoint configuration string.
So, how should this string look like other than in the sample config?
Is there any other way to mark the accounts as confirmed in order to be able to share data? It is a home server, so the whole confirmation prozess is redundant.
BTW the webaccess does not work either. I only get this bloody {“greeting”:“Hi.”}
